Repeat prescriptions

The majority of our patients medications are on Repeat Dispensing. This means that we send a batch of 12 prescriptions which usually covers an 11 month period eg 28 tablets for 28 days x 12 = 336 days.  Your chosen pharmacy should let you know when the last one in the batch has been used.

You can then order a new batch either:

If items have been prescribed but don’t appear on your patient app this is usually because they have been put on Acute.  This is usually when a prescription is just a one off or when a new medication has been changed and we need to see how you are getting on with it before we add it to your repeats.

We also sometimes post date medications such as Gabapentin, Co-codamol, Pregabalin for 3 months at a time to save multiple requests for the same items coming in each month. These items cannot be put on Repeat Dispensing hence why they are post dated.  These will show as a future date for the last issue date on your patient app.

Please allow 48 hours for your request to be processed.
